Pretty nice place to allow your dog to run and play off leash. The two big open fields and a trail that runs adjacent to Butternut Creek are considered a unfenced "dog park". The beach and picnic/shelter areas are off limits to dogs. The dog park is very popular, and at times crowded. Most dogs (and owners) are well behaved, but there's always one or two that are overly rambunctious. I tend to go during off peak hours to avoid the crowds and associated issues. All in all it's a great place and there is nothing else like it in the state, at least not that I'm aware of.
Awesome place to go with your dogs. Huge open off-leash area. Great for the kids as well. If you don't want to go to the beach but be by water there is a nature trail that goes alongside Butternut Creek. definitely worth the seven bucks to get in.
Beautiful scenery. Well maintained park with lots to do including swimming, fishing and disc golf. Not too crowded. Large swimming area with an equally large deep end.
We have been going to the Canine Carnival held here for 3 years now and love this place more and more every time.
